The secret of happiness is living in the now
Last December, I was just blown away with an Off-Broadway show as they made a record of being the first musical to ever be on live streaming online.
Daddy Long Legs is based on the novel of the same name written by Jean Webster. This follows the life of The Oldest Orphan in the John Grier Home, Jerusha “Judy” Abbott, whose education is underwritten by a man she calls Daddy Long Legs as his identity was not known to her.
The musical was starred by Megan McGinnis and Adam Halpin.
There really is something in this two man musical. I could always think of the images from a childhood show of the same title. I realized I miss the characters that gave life to the story. I have not read the book itself; I’ve only seen this show.
The fun and nostalgia brought up the magic in the show. Plus, the chemistry of the actors; if you don’t know, were a real couple.
The dialogues in the show were, most of the time, the letters of Judy and Jervis (A.K.A Daddy Long Legs) to each other. It still made the audience get lost in the theater illusion as the story progresses.
